Having a carpet inside your home is a real plus as it adds value and beauty to any room you put it in. It can really improve any home and can make it more homey and warm. But unpleasant odors which can get attached to your carpet is certainly something that can ruin all of the advantages that a carpet has. Dealing with a stinky and smelly carpet is very frustrating as removing it can be difficult.

If you have a smelly carpet at home, getting it to smell clean and fresh once again should be on top of your agenda. A stinky carpet can really put off a lot of people and it can be very embarrassing if you would have visitors or friends over. If you don’t know how to deodorize your carpet, here are some tips that can help you with this task.

Use Baking Soda – Baking soda has more use than those found in the kitchen. It also has deodorizing properties which make it a regular companion of homeowners doing chores such as cleaning clothes and furniture. Baking soda can work well in your carpet too. Get a spray bottle and spray the area of the carpet where the smell is coming from with a little water to make it damp. Then, sprinkle a layer of baking soda onto the area and leave it overnight. The following morning, get a heavy duty vacuum cleaner and suck the baking soda out of your carpet. You will notice that the odor will be gone and your carpet will be back to normal.

Steam Cleaning – Steam cleaning is another great way to deodorize your carpet. This method works particularly well for deep seated odors that are difficult to remove using other cleaning techniques. Steam cleaning makes use of a steam cleaning which utilizes high temperature and high pressure water to clean your carpet. Using this method, you can get to those hard to reach areas of your carpet and help remove the unpleasant odors that have attached to your carpet. For this method, you just simply need to rent out a steam cleaner if you don’t have one or better yet get the services of professionals who can do the job for you.

Nobody wants to live in a house with smelly carpets. If you are facing this very problem, try the methods listed above to help you get your carpet to smell clean and fresh once again.

Having your pen bust or break and spill ink is one of the most annoying things that can happen. What is worse is when the ink gets onto your shirt, pants, and worse yet, your carpet. Getting ink stains out of your carpet is no walk in the park. If left unattended, these stains can really ruin your carpet.

Cleaning up ink stains is not a fun activity but it is necessary in order to get your carpet back to being spotless and looking like new. It can be a tough task to complete but with the right attitude and the correct information you can get rid of any ink stain in no time. Here is the proper procedure for cleaning ink stains from your carpet.

Clean the stain immediately to avoid allowing it to get worse. This is always the first step when cleaning up ink stains. Letting it set or leaving it for several hours before trying to clean it will only make it harder, if not impossible, for you to remove it. As soon as the ink gets on your carpet, get to it right away to have the best chance of removing it.

Get a clean cotton cloth and apply some rubbing alcohol on it. Isopropyl alcohol works best. Then, use the clean cloth to blot the stained area. You’ll see that the stain will gradually improve as the ink transfers onto the surface of the cloth. Repeat this step, applying alcohol again onto the cloth once it dries up. Do this until all of the stain is removed or until the stain stops transferring onto the cloth.

If you don’t get the ink completely out after the last step, get a commercial carpet cleaning product that you would regularly use and apply it onto the stain. By this time the stain will already have been reduced and should be a lot easier to remove using the carpet cleaning product. Blot the stain again using a clean cloth and after a few tries the stain should be totally gone.

Don’t forget to rinse the area of the carpet where the stain used to be with clean water. This helps prevent residue from building up and damaging your carpet.

Ink stains don’t have to be a nightmare for carpet owners anymore. By following the simple steps above you can get rid of any ink stain from your carpet without any hassles and have your carpet clean and beautiful once again.

One of the best ways to eat Chinese food take-out is in front of the television with your friends while watching your favorite shows. Eating your favorite dumplings and egg rolls can be a treat while checking out the latest episode of Breaking Bad or X-Factor. What is not enjoyable, though, is when you or your friends accidentally spill some soy sauce on your beautiful carpet.

Soy sauce stains can leave a big dark blemish on your carpet and can really destroy its appearance. Getting it out isn’t a walk in the part either, not only because of its dark color but also for the distinct smell that it leaves behind. If you are faced with a soy sauce stain, don’t worry. Here are some helpful steps on how to clean it right out of your carpet in a jiffy.

Remove the Excess Soy Sauce – You don’t want to spread the stain on your carpet and make it worse. So the first thing that you’ll need to do is remove the excess soy sauce. For this, you’ll need a clean sponge or a clean cloth. Blot the spill with the sponge or cloth to remove the excess liquid. Be careful not to rub on the stain though as this will spread the stain instead of making it better.

Apply Some Detergent Cleaning Solution onto the Stain – With the actual stain the only hurdle that’s left, you’ll need to apply a cleaning agent to help remove it from your carpet. You can make use of non-bleach household detergents, which works well in removing different kinds of stains. To do this, just mix a cup of warm water with a teaspoon of non-bleach detergent to create a cleaning solution. Then, apply this solution to the stain and start blotting using a clean cloth.

Repeat Step 2 – Sometimes the soy sauce stain will not go without a fight, and you may not be able to remove it completely on your first try. If this is the case, don’t give up. Apply the detergent cleaning solution to the stain again and repeat step 2 until you have totally removed it. It may take a few tries but eventually you’ll get rid of it.

Rinse the Area – For the last step, rinse the area you just cleaned with water to remove any detergent and soy sauce residue remaining to ensure that your carpet is totally clean.

Soy sauce spills or stains can be removed easily if you act fast and follow the helpful steps above. With this helpful guide, you’ll be able to clean your carpet and be back to eating your Chinese food in front of the TV in no time.

There are a lot of great, yet inexpensive, carpet cleaning agents that you can make yourself using household ingredients. One of these common products is vinegar. Yes, vinegar works great for eliminating stains and dirt from your carpet without hurting your budget. Using vinegar is very simple; you just mix one part of it with four parts water to create an effective cleaning solution that will help remove stains from your carpet.

Maintaining the good condition and cleanliness of your carpet is not something that is always easily achieved. There are a lot of threats out there that can wreak havoc on your carpet. Examples of these are ink stains, mud stains, and paint stains. Another type of stain that many people have difficulty in addressing are ones cause by super glue. Super glue stains are particularly difficult to remove because they result in your carpet fibers getting stuck together, which can be very troublesome.

No matter how hard we try, accidents can still occur and you can end up with something like super glue on your carpet. This is not something that can’t be undone, but to be successful you must use the proper techniques. Below is a helpful guide that can assist you in cleaning up super glue from your carpet.

What you will need to remove the super glue from your carpet is some acetone, non-bleach detergent, and some water. After gathering these essential materials, you can proceed with the steps to get the super glue off your carpet.

You will be using the acetone directly on the carpet fibers so it is important that you test it out first in a small, out of site area to make sure it will not damage your carpet. Just select a secluded and inconspicuous part of your carpet and put a few drops of acetone on it. If nothing happens then you are safe to use it on your carpet. If you see some discoloration then this would not be the proper method for you and you should contact a professional carpet cleaner.

Get a medicine dropper and place 4 drops of acetone on the area stained with the super glue. Let it set for several minutes to let the acetone do its job. To increase the effectiveness of this method, you can use a toothbrush and gently work the acetone into the carpet fibers. After some time, this will slowly dissolve the glue and will get your carpet back to the way it was before the spill.

After you have dissolved the glue and untangled the carpet fibers, it is time to rinse the area of any acetone or glue residue that may be left behind. Get a teaspoon of your non-bleach detergent and mix it with a cup of water. Place the solution inside a spray bottle and spray the area you just cleaned. Then, brush the area gently with a soft-bristled brush. Lastly, rinse the solution with clean water and then dry it up using a clean rag or cloth.

Removing super glue from your carpet is not all that hard. With the steps above, you should be able to get the super glue out of your carpet without having to cut the fibers of your beautiful carpet.

Many carpet owners are often too busy to do the carpet cleaning themselves. But cleaning the carpet is an important task that should never be forgotten. Because of this, many carpet owners opt to go with professional carpet cleaners to help them with this chore. There are many carpet cleaning companies nowadays and finding the right one for the job can be a challenging task. Not exerting the due diligence required in finding the best carpet cleaning company can mean the difference between a good experience and a disaster.

If you have never had the experience of looking for a carpet cleaning company, it is important that you read the guide below before choosing among your potential candidates. Choosing the right one is only as hard as you make it, but with the right attitude and by following the information below, you’ll no doubt pick the best one without any hassle.

Ask For Referrals – The best way to find out if the service of a carpet cleaning company is good is by asking your friends and family members who have had experiences with cleaners. Advertisements can be misleading, even the testimonials printed on their posters and flyers can often stretch the truth. By asking your friends, though, you will be able to get an honest opinion that can help you in choosing the best carpet cleaner.

Interview the Professional Carpet Cleaners – If you have potential carpet cleaning companies to choose from, conducting a short interview can really help you gauge, to some extent, their services and the experience that they offer. Ask about the kind of cleaning services that they offer as well as the techniques that they use. Always go for those that are already trusted in the community and that utilize the most modern techniques.

Always Go With the One With a Money-Back/Satisfaction Guarantee – With the many carpet cleaners available, there are some who offer great guarantees as well as promotions. If you are in search of a carpet cleaner, why not go for one with a money-back or satisfaction guarantee. This way, you will have some sense of security that they will either get the job done or return the cost of the service. This is a convenient feature that is really an advantage for the customers.

Follow these tips and you will definitely have a better chance of finding the right carpet cleaning company for your cleaning needs. Good luck in your search!

Dye is a colorful substance used to color many different things. You can use it on your hair to change its color or you can use it on shirts or fabric. When using dye though, you sometimes end up with mistakes or spills and often times they can be very hard to clean up, especially if it ends up on your carpet.

Dye stains can be very problematic for any carpet owner. They can ruin your carpet’s look if you don’t clean it up right away. If you are faced with this kind of stain, don’t panic, as there are ways to remove it. Here are some steps that are effective in removing dye stains from your carpet.

1. One of the first things that you need to do is to remove any excess dye from the carpet to prevent it from seeping deeper into your carpet fibers. To do this, get a clean cloth or a sponge and blot the stained area. Just be careful not to rub on it as you can end up pushing it further into your carpet and make it worse.

2. Next, gather the materials that you will need for the cleaning. In this case you’ll need some non-bleach household detergent, some white vinegar, water, a clean cloth or towel, and some rubbing alcohol.

3. Mix a teaspoon of the detergent and a teaspoon of the white vinegar with one cup of warm water. Place this solution inside a spray bottle and apply it onto the stain.

4. Once you have sprayed the stained area a few times, use the clean cloth to blot the area. Again, be careful not to rub at the stain, as this will only make it worse. Repeat this step until all of the stain is removed.

5. If after doing the last step the stain still remains, get the rubbing alcohol and pour some onto the stained area. Let it soak for a couple of minutes and then resume blotting the stain. Repeat this until you have completely removed the dye stain off your carpet.

6. With the stain removed, the last step is to rinse the area you just cleaned. This helps prevent any residue from being left behind on the carpet. And finally, dry the area thoroughly.

As you can see, cleaning up dye stains from your carpet is not that hard. Just follow these basic steps and you should have no problem getting rid of that annoying dye stain and having your carpet spotless in no time.

Carpet cleaning can require a fair amount of time and work from carpet owners. Carpet should be considered an investment because even though it can improve the look and feel of a room, it can also be quite expensive and will require your time and efforts. Some carpet owners have difficulty keeping their carpet clean as they can attract dirt, dust, and unclean elements very easily.

If you are a carpet owner and are looking for ways to make your cleaning efforts easier, here are some helpful tips and tricks that should reduce the amount of wasted effort and maximize your results.

Routine Vacuuming – One problem with carpet cleaning is how to keep it looking fresh and clean. Even without stains and spills, dust and dirt will accumulate on your carpet regularly, at an alarming rate. This is usually why it seems that after only a few days your carpet is already looking dirty again. A good way to combat this is by implementing a routine vacuuming schedule. Regular vacuuming will prevent the build up of dust and dirt, which is the key reason for discoloration in your carpet. For high traffic areas, vacuuming three to five times a week is recommended while one to two times a week will do fine for low traffic areas.

Using Baking Soda When Vacuuming – If you have a problem with how to keep your carpet smelling fresh, a super simple solution is to sprinkle a layer baking soda over your carpet before vacuuming. Unpleasant odor can come from a lot of different sources such as bacteria, fungi, and even pets. Baking soda works great for neutralizing odors in carpet and has been used as a household deodorizer for many years. Sprinkle an even layer of baking soda over your carpet and let it set for an hour or so then proceed with vacuuming the carpet. You will notice that the unpleasant smell will already be gone and you’ll have a fresh smelling carpet once more.

Move Your Furniture Around When Cleaning the Carpet – This is a very basic tip yet a lot of people still don’t do it. Not moving your furniture when cleaning will not give all of your carpet a thorough cleaning. This can result in the color of certain areas not matching after a while and uneven wear. Always move any pieces of furniture around that you can when vacuuming or cleaning your carpet to ensure that all areas of the carpet will be taken care of.

Carpet cleaning doesn’t have to be a difficult task. Just follow these simple tips and you’ll surely have an easier time cleaning and maintaining your carpet.

Grape juice is a favorite that children and adults both enjoy. Unfortunately, it can also be the source of one of the biggest headaches for carpet owners as spilled grape juice can really make a dreadful stain. It’s even worse for those who have white or light colored carpet in their homes.

So exactly how do you get rid of that horrible juice stain in your carpet? Thankfully cleaning grape juice isn’t as hard as it actually looks like it will be. But there are guidelines that need to be followed so that you don’t end up spreading the stain and making it worse. Here are the steps that will give you the best chance at removing that grape juice stain from your carpet.

·	The first step is removing as much of the liquid from your carpet as possible. A shop vac works wonders for this. If one is not available then use a dry towel, cloth, or sponge to blot the area until no more fluid can be removed. Do not rub at the spot, as it will only make things worse. Just lightly blot the stain and absorb as much of the juice as you can. This will make the actual stain removal that much easier as well as prevent the juice from seeping deeper into your carpet fibers.

·	Once you have removed as much of the liquid as possible, all you should be left with is the actual satin. The next step is to apply a cleaning agent to the stain. You can opt to use the many commercial cleaning products available or you can choose to use white vinegar or ammonia. To use the household alternatives, mix a teaspoon of the vinegar or ammonia with a cup of warm water and then apply the solution with a spray bottle. Let it soak for a minute or two and then proceed with the next step.

·	After allowing the cleaning product to soak, you want to begin blotting with a clean towel or cloth. Again, do not to rub on the stain and instead just slowly blot the area using slight pressure. The stain should be transferring to the cloth. Apply more cleaner as needed and repeat this until all of the stain is removed.

·	Once the stain is gone you’re still not done yet. Always make sure to thoroughly rinse the area you cleaned with clean water to remove any excess cleaning solution. Then you need to completely dry the area using either a shop vac or some clean, dry towels.

Spilled grape juice doesn’t have to send you up the wall anymore. Follow these effective tips and you should be able to rid your carpet of grape juice stains faster and easier.
